WiSci: Girls STEAM Camp

This summer, Girl Up supporters have an exclusive opportunity to attend the WiSci: Girls STEAM Camp, a three-week camp hosted at the Gashora Girls Academy in Rwanda for high school females interested in the fields of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math). The camp is a partnership between Girl Up, the U.S. Department of State, Intel, Microsoft and the Rwanda Girls Initiative. From July 27-August 14, 2015, the WiSci: Girls STEAM Camp will bring together 30 students from the U.S. and 90 students from 8 countries across Africa for a rich cross-cultural learning experience.

The camp, held at the secure school facility outside of Kigali, will include a curriculum focused on computer science, robotics, arts and leadership, with educational field trips on the weekends. This Girl Up opportunity is the first of its kind, uniting girls from around the world to build leadership skills and knowledge. Tune in this summer for photos, videos and blogs from camp participants.  For additional details, learn more about Girls STEAM Camp on the State Department website and review the camp FAQs.

Note: Applications for students now have closed. If you have additional questions, email Girl Up at Community@GirlUp.org.
