Hi, I’m Adrianne Owings and I’m a senior at Episcopal Collegiate School in Little Rock, Arkansas and I’m the Co-Founder and Co-President of the second Girl Up club ever established in Arkansas!
I’m a nationally-recognized orator, serve as President of Episcopal Collegiate’s French Honor Society, and was most recently honored with the position of Governor of Arkansas Girls State 2015. As Governor, I run on the platform of women’s empowerment.
In addition, I’m a professional actress and writer at the Arkansas Repertory Theater as well as a NAUI Master Scuba Diver and soon-to-be Dive Master Candidate. I hope to pursue a career in either environmental or international law and eventually work on Capitol Hill one day.
My role model is none other than the character of Leslie Knope from Parks and Recreation, as played by Amy Poehler. The lovely Knope fights the hardest she can for what she truly believes in. I believe every single girl has the power to change the world, and serving as a Teen Advisor for the 2015-2016 year is a wonderful step in helping girls do just that! I’m so excited!
