¡Hola! I’m Aya Labban and I’m a rising senior at Wootton High School in Maryland. Working with Girl Up is such an empowering and amazing opportunity to spread awareness and work to end issues regarding girls in our world today!
Activism and educating others is extremely important to me and it’s something I’m so passionate about! I really believe everyone can make a change and should stand for what is right. I go to protests and speak out for what’s right as well as being involved in a local DC/Bethesda organization called GirlsUp. GirlsUp’s Teen Board has taught me so much about planning, interacting, and making a change in the world.
As well as being an activist, I enjoy traveling and experiencing new cultures, food, and atmospheres; I hope to one day visit Paris and Tokyo! My dream although, is to live in New York City and work in the fashion industry! Also, I enjoy working with kids; I’m spending my senior year interning as a teacher assistant for little kids! I really enjoy meeting new and different people and learning from them as well as making new friends!
I’m really looking forward to working with Girl Up and really making an impact on other girls in the world and hopefully making a change!
