Claire Brito, Co-Chair

Hey! I’m Claire, I’m a senior at Tabor Academy in Marion, Massachusetts but I’m from Houston, Texas where I live with my parents and two younger brothers.

I got involved with Girl Up two years ago, after leading a service project teaching girls at a local school in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Working with these girls and learning about the barriers keeping them from reaching their potential in school and beyond made me realize how important Girl Up’s mission was.It pushed me to learn more about advocacy and fundraising.

At my high school, I’m the Editor-in-Chief of my school newspaper, co-captain of the cross country team, a huge history buff, a Model UN delegateand a coxswain for the men’s varsity rowing team. I’m a contributing founder to my school’s nascent Girl’s Club, which aims to incorporate Girl Up’s broad mission alongside community-specific leadership development programming.

In my spare time, I love to spend time with friends and family, play tennis and seek out good coffee shops. My dream job is anything that will let me travel the world. Serving as a Teen Advisor last year allowed me to meet some of the most remarkable young women. I’m thrilled and honored to be returning as Co-Chair and continue with this incredible movement for and by girls worldwide.
