Maisie Kirn

Hi, everyone! My name is Maisie Kirn and I am a junior at Park High School in the town of Livingston, Montana, just outside of stunning Yellowstone National Park!

While traveling throughout Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia for six months during my sophomore year, I learned first-hand of the challenges facing women around the world and immediately desired to find a way to help improve the quality of life for girls everywhere.

In addition to managing a Girl Up chapter at my school, I am involved in a feminist discussion group for all members of my community, participate in Model UN, am an official in Student Government and compete in Academic Olympics and Academic Worldquest.

Outside of school, I intern with my city’s mayor, volunteer at my local animal shelter and lead a trail clean-up program. When I have extra time, I love to read, hike, write short stories, play the guitar, and spend time with my dogs. After college, I hope to work as an international activist for women’s and environmental rights.

I am thrilled and honored to be chosen as a Teen Advisor and am excited to see what’s in store for the coming year!
